Competence Based Training for VET Professionals in Clean Environment

The project “Competence-based training for VET professionals in clean environment-COMBAT” goals enhancement the quality of education and professional development of VET teachers/trainers, recognized as inherently important issues for the creation of EU knowledge-based society. Its main aim is to improve the quality of their competence and skills, to establish the links between theory and practice and to apply the learner-centered approach.

The COMBAT project proposes a competence-based e-learning system, structured as learning outcomes, assessed through ECVET principles, envisaged for ex-post accreditation and quality enhancement of VET education system at National/European level. Its specific aims are focused on: transferring the innovative WASTE-TRAIN learning program in the field of waste recycling/reuse; build up of structured model in respect to EQF reference levels; selection of mix of learning methods and specific content and set up of multilanguage e-platform. In order to facilitate the process for incorporation of South East EU countries in the innovative VET professionals’ education, the COMBAT consortium includes 5 partners from BG, TR, SL, SI and is composed by Universities, R&D centers and SME.

The associated members of the consortium will facilitate the process for ‘transfer of innovation’. The innovative training of COMBAT offers the following results: delivery of system for structural description of work-related competences; design of COMBAT competence portfolio; introduction of new educational support services: provision of new training opportunities for VET professionals; personalization of learning paths of specialized knowledge; personal guidance facilitated tuition process; planning and performance of project testing; evaluation and effective valorization; ex-post accreditation and commercialization of project deliverables.

The up to date methodological strategy is designed for refreshment of trainees’ skills and ability of short and long term beneficiaries. The impact is grounded on the development of flexible basis for continuing education with quality enhancement in respect to the national VET requirements as well as on the introduction of system for teachers/trainers qualifications validation. Thus the COMBAT project will contribute for the partners’ national VET system development in compliance to the EU standards and will raise the territory network formation. The sustainability of the project is due to the cluster activities with relevant projects, media, stakeholders; inclusion of spin-offs into project practices, targeting valorization events and measures for post-project life assurance.
